The time when you least expect something often becomes an opportunity for great inspiration. This is especially true when what you least expect is someone or a group of someones who go out of their way for others. It makes you stop and switch your thinking. It inspires you to want to do the same and ‘pass it on.’ Following your daily routine has become just that–following.
But the right person or event can inspire others not just to follow, but instead reminds us that we are an integral part of something much bigger than ‘daily routine.’ Random acts such as paying for the person’s coffee behind you in line go on at coffee shops all the time. Reports of 3+ hour marathons of people paying for others are not unheard of and it just takes that one person, that one act, to inspire others to give, to share, and to remind us all how truly connected we are when we stop looking through the prism of ‘what’s in it for me?’ and instead realize the greatness that can be achieved by asking, ‘what’s in it for US?’
This type of thinking becomes infectious for people who thought today was going to be like every other day. It moves you. Moments like this occur at Findaway all the time. It’s just that kind of place. Whether encouraging fellow employees to recognize one another for excellent work, or by maintaining its strong commitment to charitable giving, Findaway World fosters a culture of inspiring others to support one another and give back. A person playing an instrument in the middle of a plaza in Spain invites others to do the same, invites yet others to sing, and beckons anyone in the vicinity to stop, watch, listen and become a part of something greater than themselves. Take a look at this video and see if you don’t agree.
